The answer is: Yes, but with conditions. Letās break it down.
An NRI (Non-Resident Indian) is an Indian citizen who resides outside India for more than 182 days in a financial year for purposes like employment, education, or business.
ā Note: Overseas Citizens of India (OCI cardholders) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are not eligible to vote unless they are Indian citizens.
ā YES, NRIs can vote, but only in person in their constituency in India.
There is no online voting or postal ballot yet for NRIs.
